1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the ChowAround mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
ChowAround is a location-based application that helps users discover food establishments in their vicinity. The App captures "snapshots" of nearby restaurants, cafes, and other food spots based on your current location.
3. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP AND ALL LOCATION DATA ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
ChowAround relies on third-party location and mapping services, including but not limited to LocationIQ and Google Places API, to provide location data. We do not guarantee:
- The accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any location data
- That all food establishments in an area will be displayed
- That displayed establishments are currently open or operational
- The accuracy of business hours, contact information, or other details
- That the App will function without interruption or errors
4. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CHOWAROUND AND ITS DEVELOPERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.
This includes, but is not limited to, damages arising from:
- Inability to find a specific location or establishment
- Inaccurate or missing location data
- Decisions made based on information provided by the App
- Any issues with third-party services or APIs
- Loss of data or service interruptions
5. Third-Party Services
The App utilizes third-party services including:
- LocationIQ - For location and geocoding services
- Google Maps/Places - For detailed place information
- Supabase - For data storage and authentication
These services have their own terms of service and privacy policies. ChowAround is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or functionality of these third-party services.
6. User Responsibilities
By using the App, you agree to:
- Use the App in compliance with all applicable laws
- Not use the App while operating a vehicle in an unsafe manner
- Verify important information (such as business hours) independently before visiting an establishment
- Not rely solely on the App for navigation or location decisions
7. Location Data Accuracy
Important: Location data and search results are provided by third-party APIs and may not reflect all available establishments in an area. Results may vary based on API coverage, data availability, and other factors beyond our control. The absence of a location in search results does not mean the establishment does not exist.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ChowAround and its developers from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.
9. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
